Francis Mallory Elementary School Reviews

i agree with the lady that wrote the 1st comment. we are new to the area, and they have schools that also closer to us, but they send my child to mallory. i visited to school, and yes it looks run down, and i would say more, but i'll leave it at that. overall, me and my son don't like the school. i'm trying to move in better school zones.

When my husband and I moved into our neighborhood, we were under the impression that we were zoned for Forrest (and this school is closest to where we live). However, we are actually zoned for Mallory. My daughter is currently enrolled in Kindergarten and she will not be returning next year. I am disgusted at the academic progress the school has made. Mallory continues to be A Title I school in need of improvement and they are accredited with warning. The teachers and the staff are not well spoken or particularly friendly and the school is very run-down looking and located in a rather seedy neighborhood. We are currently seeking permission to go out-of-zone.

Mallory has the tools to be successful: great teachers, involved parents and motivated students, but lacks strong leadership from administration. Focus is always on the negative and never on the positive. With teachers constantly being berated for what they've done wrong and never being applauded for the great job they've done, morale is low amongst the staff at Mallory, which results in a high turnover rate in teachers, which then results in low scores among students. Attitude is the direct reflection of leadership and teacher attitude at Mallory is bad.
