Guided Trail Rides at Yorktown Stables

Yorktown Stables is a premium (and fun!) multi-discipline full service equine facility conveniently located in Yorktown, Virginia. Yorktown Stables was opened in January 2010 by Kristen Paster and proudly serves the communities of Hampton Roads. We are the only stable in Hampton Roads that offers Saddleseat Lessons, Vaulting Lessons and Guided Trail Rides. Our guided trail rides cover over 100 acres of both open and wooded land along the Poquoson River. Whether you are experiencing riding for the first time, returning to the saddle after time away, or have decided to improve existing skills, I hope to share with you the joy and sense of accomplishment that working with horses can bring. I am here to help make your time spent in the barn and on the horse a safe and joyful experience. I believe training should be fun, proactive, and effective. Need something different? Special? In and out of town a lot? Customized plans by private treaty gladly arranged.

Through lessons, trail rides, and special events Yorktown Stables will seek to create a peaceful and positive environment in which our students can flourish. * To be recognized as a high-quality boarding stable for horses and ponies, where their quality of life is the measure of everything we do. We promise to always treat our horse-boarders with respect and kindness, as if they were our own. But there’s one rule we always break that’s the rule to not fall in love with boarded horses who are after all, just "temporary guests" — we’re helpless when it comes to loving horses and are sure to love your horse as well. * To make sales of quality horses that exhibit nice dispositions, good conformation, and athletic ability. * Moreover, YS Stables will seek to be an overall positive influence in the lives of our students by reinforcing good character traits. With the horses ever serving as faithful object lessons, we will reinforce the things learned at home, in school, and at work such as honesty, integrity, discipline, benevolence, and a hard work ethic. We will leverage our facilities, horses, and instructors to accomplish these goals.
